The polarity is what makes us messy and jaded and absolutely divine. We form patterns to make sense of ourselves, because identity is all there is. But we’re designed to wander off, never truly staying in the same place. That drives interesting stories.

That’s where I love to write.

I’m Nicole S. Kaps. Dark contemporary romance writer, obsessive lover of the psyche, and someone who knows what it’s like being trapped inside her own mind, mistaking control for safety and perfectionism as a standard.

I was kidding myself.

My debut trilogy, Walls We Build, was born from that conditioning. Set within the polished grounds of Prestwick West, control begins to fracture, contracts blur, and chaos slowly decomposes beneath its own charms.

Expect morally complex characters, high-stakes choices, and a forbidden romance tied to rules meant to break.

Now, for the truth: I’ve been writing this book for 15 years.

The oldest version is published on Wattpad signed under a different name, but it is nothing like this one.
